Project Name: Modernisation and automation of mechanical wastewater pretreatment
Customer: Water Distribution Company
Completed: 12/2016
Project Description: The customer had rough manual screens installed at an inlet wastewater treatment plant, with two people needed to clean them. One climbed down an approx. 4.5-metre ladder to reach the manual screens in order to manually remove sludge that had been collected over time and to put it into a bucket, while the other person lifted the bucket with a 4.5-metre rope and manually carried the sludge three metres to a container. This procedure had to be repeated until the manual screen mesh had been completely cleaned, about 4-5 times daily, even more after rain and floods
The solution Transmisie implemented involved tilting comb screen switches that automatically brings the sludge to the surface, depending on the water level in the channel, for belt conveyors to transport it into the container. This solution can operate constantly with all parameters shown in the main control room. A comb screen lifting mechanism was added to the solution, significantly increasing the speed and safety when the system is serviced.
Scope:
- Time-limited channel outages for modifications.
- Removing the original equipment.
- Structural modifications for positioning the new equipment
- Assembling the new mechanical pretreatment line equipment
- Powering it and setting up auto mode and control
- Functional testing + operator training
Scheduled inspections: once every 12 months
Scheduled maintenance
Servicing in case of breakdown
